In 13+ years of being in the hair industry, Genevieve not only created stunning hair designs, but a stellar career as a hairstylist, entrepreneur, and passionate educator.

Back in 2010, Genevieve stepped into the world of hair at Blanche Macdonald Centre. While taking up the Pro Hairstyling Program; she showcased her talent in Skills Canada, taking home the bronze in Hair Design. Fast forward to post-diploma, Genevieve found herself shaping haircuts at JD’s Barbershop in vibrant Downtown Vancouver. Focused on barber cuts, fades, and hot shaves, Genevieve transformed into a client magnet.

A couple of years later, the young stylist shifted to an independent role, cutting from her home studio. Building from the ground up, she assembled a small team that quickly gained a large clientele. Then Genevieve decided to take a bold leap in 2015, birthing Genevieve Studio in Downtown, Vancouver. What started as a shop for diverse hair design evolved into Mane Study, a hub where barber cuts, women’s styles, balayages, and color corrections became daily triumphs. Imagine this fun space becoming a launching pad for the next wave of hairstyling talent.

Her appetite for learning never waned amidst her bustling calendar. Genevieve actively sought out educational opportunities, attending classes and seminars in and out of the country led by world-class stylists. She was personally mentored by top-tier hair professionals and even jet-setted to Sassoon Academy in London, UK, earning another diploma to add to her arsenal of skills. Genevieve was always on the cutting edge of hairstyling wisdom.

In 2017, Genevieve demonstrated her barbering skills at The Battle of the Barbers, clinching 1st Place in Classic Men’s Cut and 2nd Place in Best Fade.

After years of ownership in the hair salon industry, Genevieve embarked on a hiatus before pursuing a new professional path. Transitioning into education, she assumed a mentorship and teaching position at Blanche Macdonald in the Barbering and Pro Hairstyling Program. With time, she rediscovered her passion for crafting hairstyles. She now operates from her private studio, offering exclusive workshops, and shaping the future generation of hairstylists.
